Justin Roberts' contract not renewed by WWE

After 12 years as one of WWE's primary ring announcers, Justin Roberts' tenure with the company has come to an abrupt end.
According to WWE.com, the promotion decided against exercising its option in Roberts' contract.
The 34-year-old native of Chicago became Raw's lead ring announcer in 2009, and he had served in that role ever since.
Roberts' passion for WWE and sports entertainment was obvious, and he even revealed the root of his love for professional wrestling in a recent blog post.

Roberts last appearance was on Monday's Raw from Atlanta, Georgia and there was no indication prior to the event that he would be leaving the company. Roberts was seen as a company man having served as a ring announcer for all of WWE's major programming since 2002.

The official WWE website is reporting that the company has decided to release longtime ring announcer Justin Roberts "effectively immediately" - Below is the WWE.com statement on Justin Robert's release:

WWE has chosen to not exercise its option to renew ring announcer Justin Roberts' contract. Effectiveimmediately, Roberts is released from WWE.

WWE wishes him the best in all his future endeavors.
